After my daughter was born, I left my job as an elementary and middle school music teacher to stay home with her. As a new mom, I was always looking for fun and engaging activities we could enjoy together, so we spent a lot of time singing, dancing, and being silly. We started inviting friends over for playdates and sing-alongs, and soon my daughter was trying to copy me, even leading her own ‘class.’ It was such a joyful experience that our friends encouraged us to share it with the larger community. That’s how Mama Llama Music came to life—a program created by a parent with a little one, for caregivers and their little ones, to connect, play, and discover the joy of music together.

Our curriculum is centered around the power of live music and timeless folk songs that have proven to be instrumental in fostering language development. We incorporate a diverse selection of songs, each featuring various meters and tonalities, to stimulate and enhance babies' musical development. We use many movement-based activities and the creative use of props, which combine to create a stimulating and enjoyable musical environment. Through this engaging and enriching curriculum, we aim to nurture not only a love for music but also essential developmental skills in our young learners.

Anna Volodarskaya is an experienced music educator with over a decade of teaching music to all age groups. Her background in language acquisition uniquely informs her approach to using music for language and communication instruction. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Education and a Master's degree in Music.

Anna has taught music at various levels, from infants to adults, covering a wide range of subjects like piano, voice, chorus, music history, and more. She has also mentored other music educators and consulted on music education programs. Anna is recognized for her achievements as an award-winning arranger and choral conductor. Most notably, she is a mama to a toddler!
